Loughborough Women's Aid (LWA) provides safe and anonymous accommodation for all women - with or without children - who have suffered any form of domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual and mental abuse. Our Outreach Service also extends to support men who are experiencing any form of domestic abuse.

As a member of Women's Aid Federation of England, we are part of a network of over 300 projects, providing over 500 refuges, helplines, outreach services and advice centres throughout England. In the year 2001/02, our national network of domestic abuse service providers supported a total of 143,337 women and 114,489 children (with over 40,000 women and children staying in our refuges). A further 35,000 individuals called Women's Aid 24 hour National Domestic Violence Helpline (0800 2000 247) for information and support.
