What We Do

LWA provides free and confidential support to anyone suffering from domestic abuse.

Here at LWA, we provide the following services in Charnwood and North West Leicestershire:

Outreach Support, including: 

• Listening support
• Emotional support
• Advice on personal safety
• Assistance with legal and housing options
• Help with benefit claims and budgeting
• Accompanying support for meetings e.g. solicitors
• Resettlement support; help with setting up and staying in a new home

At LWA we also work to provide the following services: 

• Arranging refuge accommodation (or other safe options)
• Support / self-help groups
• Helpline – talk anonymously to a trained worker
• Education and training opportunities
• Assistance with home security, including the Sanctuary Scheme
• LENS – taking and storing photographic evidence of injuries for future use
• Training for other groups/agencies on domestic abuse and related issues
