The refuge

A refuge simply means a safe house offering temporary accommodation for you and your children. It ensures a place of safety for any woman escaping domestic abuse whatever the circumstances.

The Refuge in Loughborough provides supported emergency accommodation for up to five women and their children.  You will have your own bedroom, for you and your children, while sharing kitchen, lounge, bathrooms and garden with the other residents.

Women staying here are given the opportunity to decide their own futures and offered the support they need to achieve their own aims. Practical help and advice is available on legal, housing and welfare issues from our experienced refuge staff who also offer emotional support to you throughout your stay.

Refuge staff liaise with statutory and non-statutory agencies to ensure progress and maximise support services to meet the individual need of each family.

When you leave refuge we will assist you to settle into your new home and community.
